Cat unicorn macarons flavored with matcha powder and filled with freeze dry organic raspberry buttercream. Yum!
How cute are these fluffy cat unicorn French macarons? I fell in love when I saw all the colors and instantly thought I can do this. I mean… it’s only a four color macaron batter. And I can add shimmery colors like metallic pink, purple, blue or gold luster dust! Though I decorated some with moon and star sprinkles and Wilton’s edible food markers. I like how it came out, but gotta work on the cat’s paws and feet. Those came out a little crispy like my unicorn macarons. With some leftover batter, I made the usual unicorns and bears.
Cat Unicorn Notes

Those of you that have been following me for a while know I’ve been baking these macarons since maybe 2013-2014. Some days I get really tired of the same ol’ thing and other days, I see a cute idea like from this template and I try to implement it. Wish I knew who originally drew it so I can give proper credit.
I’ve been wanting to make chocolate bon bons for a while now, but honestly – I’m a bit intimidated by the entire process. The key thing is to have good quality chocolate. Not the baking bars you find in grocery stores, but the ones with cocoa butter. I’ve taken tons of notes, watched 20+ videos on YouTube and asked several questions. I have my chocolate mold and colored cocoa butter ready to go. But I’m still holding back… why? What is the real fear? Messing up? That’s how you learn. Wasting ingredients? That happens with macarons too and I seem to be OK with it. I gotta push myself to trying it on a weekend when I’m not pressed on time or clean-up.
Wish me luck!
