Swan macarons with swirls of black and white macaron batter, decorated in orange and black edible food markers and accentuated with fondant wings. I love how each one is different and how some includes a marbleized neck. Coconut ganache fills these swan macarons and each bite is decadent. Um, yes please.
Fondant has entered my baking world and I am opening myself to using other creative ways of decorating my desserts. It’s like polymer clay or playdoh, except edible and you don’t bake it either. When I laid my eyes on an angel wings mold1, I started brainstorming on what to create next. Voila – swan macarons born with fondant wings dusted in gold luster dust. Aren’t they cute?
